Terms of use
The rules for using CasaFolio, written plainly. Read them before creating an account: by creating one, you accept these terms.
In effect since 7 October 2026
1.The service
CasaFolio helps you run your household: deadlines and payments, reminders, chores, shopping lists, subscriptions and documents, shared with the people you invite. It works in the browser and can be installed on your phone like an app.
CasaFolio is an organisation tool. It does not provide legal, tax, financial or insurance advice, and reminders are an aid: meeting each deadline remains your responsibility.
2.Your account
To create an account you must be at least 16 years old and use your own name and an email address you can confirm.
You are responsible for what is done with your account. To protect it:
- use a long password that you do not use anywhere else;
- turn on two-step verification and keep your recovery codes safe;
- tell us straight away if you suspect access you did not make.
3.Households, people and permissions
Information is organised by household. Whoever creates a household is its owner: they manage the plan, the people and the permissions. Admins manage records and people, members see and edit what is shared, and guests can only view.
When you invite someone, you give them access to the household's information according to each record's visibility. What you mark as "Only me" is visible only to you. Anyone who leaves a household loses access to that household's information.
If you share a shopping list by link, anyone with the link can open it until the link expires or you revoke it.
4.Your content
What you keep in CasaFolio — records, notes, lists and documents — is yours. You only give us the permission needed to store it, process it and show it to the people you choose, for the sole purpose of providing the service.
We do not sell your content or use it for advertising. You can export it at any time in Settings → Privacy.
Only upload content you have the right to keep. If you include other people's data, for example that of relatives, make sure you are allowed to. Every file uploaded to the platform is the responsibility of whoever uploads it, including its content and the right to keep it. Files are scanned for malware and may be rejected.
5.Acceptable use
You may not use CasaFolio to:
- store or share content that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others;
- upload malware or try to access accounts, households or data that are not yours;
- overload the service or get around its security, bot protection or plan limits;
- collect data by automated means or resell the service without our written agreement.
6.Plans and payments
The free plan has no time limit. Paid plans, with their features, limits and prices, are listed on the pricing page.
Only the household owner can subscribe to, change or cancel a paid plan. Paid plans are charged in advance, monthly or yearly, and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe: we do not store your card details. Any applicable taxes are shown before you confirm payment.
You can cancel at any time, within CasaFolio. The plan stays active until the end of the paid period and then switches to the free plan without losing data. If the account has more than its plan includes (households, records or documents), for example after changing plan or when a coupon's benefit ends, you have 30 days to delete what is beyond the plan or change plan; after that the account becomes read-only. After 60 days without sorting it out the account is suspended and only its owner can open it; after 90 days its households are deleted, with their files, once any live subscription is cancelled. We tell you by email at every step. The current period is not refunded, except in the cases in the next section or where the law requires it.
If we change the price of a paid plan, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance. The new price only applies from the next renewal and you can cancel before then.
7.Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can withdraw from a paid subscription within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason, by writing to the contact at the end of this page.
Because the service starts immediately after payment, at your request, we refund the amount paid minus a share proportional to the time already used, within 14 days and using the same payment method.
8.Availability and changes to the service
We work to keep CasaFolio available and secure, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation: there may be maintenance, failures or problems with third-party services such as email or notifications.
The product evolves: we may add, change or remove features. If a change significantly reduces what you paid for, we will tell you in advance and you can cancel with a refund of the unused part.
9.Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or for losses caused by a missed deadline, a reminder that did not arrive, or incorrect information entered by you or the people in your household.
Except in the cases below, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or the consumer rights that the law gives you and that cannot be excluded by contract.
10.Ending your use
You can stop using CasaFolio whenever you like and request account deletion by writing to the contact at the end of this page. Download your data first in Settings → Privacy: after deletion we cannot recover it.
We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, puts other people's security at risk, or where the law requires it. Whenever possible, we will warn you first, explain why and give you time to export your data.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service or the law. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you can cancel and delete your account before that date.
12.Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring proceedings in its courts.
First, talk to us: most problems are resolved quickly. You may also turn to a consumer alternative dispute resolution body (the Portuguese list is at www.consumidor.gov.pt) or to the Portuguese Electronic Complaints Book (www.livroreclamacoes.pt).
These terms are available in several languages. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
